I love the way the crochet version of the crocodile stitch looks, I wanted booties that had a similar crocodile type cuff but knitted. Here it is. Not quite as heavy in the texture but I really like it!

Very nice!!It's been a while since I wanted a pattern like this one ...thank you
ReplyDeleteWonderful pattern! I just made my first pair and you are right they knit up very quickly. If I wanted to make the next size up how many stitches would I need to add?
ReplyDeleteHelp! I am a beginner. I have managed to get half way across row 13 and am now mystified. I still have 13 stitches left in the row what do I do with these?
ReplyDeleteMary Ann, when the pattern says "turn" this means you are short-rowing, the stitches that remain, that you have not worked, simply do not get worked at all, you just turn the work, and knit as directed. Every time you "turn" you are leaving stitches unworked, this is correct.
ReplyDeletePlease help! I am stuck on ROW 21 ! Can't understand after PSSO, please help
ReplyDeleteSariya,
ReplyDeleteRow 21 says:(RS) sl 1, k5, sl 1, k1, PSSO, knit to last 4 sts, k2togtbl, k2.
So you slip 1 stitch, k5 sts, slip 1 stitch, k1, then pass the slipped stitch over the last one you knit (PSSO) then you knit to the last 4 stitches, k2tog thru the back loops, then k2.
Hi I get 2 3 holes in the pattern after completing row 22. I think it is due to the purl3together and url2together. Could you please tell where am i going wrong.
ReplyDeleteAnnonymous,
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how you'd get a hole by purling stitches together. ???
You are turning correct? When it says turn you turn to the other side and leave the remaining stitches unworked. This is called short rowing. If you don't turn, if you continued on to the end of the row you would end up with a hole. Is that what you're doing?
I just wanted to say thanks so much for this tutorial!!! I love it and it looks fantastic! This is the best baby bootie pattern that I have ever found!
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern!
